I studied Doctrine and covenants 58:26-28 this morning and on how we are given the power to make righteous choices and how Heavenly Father expects us to bring about good on our own, to have initiative, not just to be missionary puppets controlled by His spirit:
26 For behold, it is not meet that I should command in all things; for he that is a compelled in all things, the same is a b slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward.
27 Verily I say, men should be a anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;
Short missionary story: A woman named H (she's from Africa) haha just kidding, she's from China, who we have met with a few times had to drop us because her husband didn't like her meeting with us (even though he's never met us). But we told her we would never want to come in between them. She cried and told us how much closer she is to God because of us and how we helped her get back on track because she hadn't been to church in several weeks until we started meeting with her. She told us how grateful she was for us and got our emails so we could stay in touch. I think this is the first person to drop us who didn't want to. It was really sad to say goodbye to her, but incredible to see how her faith had increased.
I love being a missionary!
